If you’re like me, you probably love a good sip of Coke from McDonald’s. It tastes pretty much like the real thing!

But how is McDonald’s able to accomplish all of this?

It turns out that there is a lot of factors that come into play here to give McDonald’s Coke that little extra pop.

First off, McDonald’s has the product delivered in stainless steel containers that help preserve the ingredients, and therefore ensure that their Coke tastes fresher, whereas their competitors use plastic bags. According to Business Insider, this is because Coca-Cola delivers the syrup to McDonald’s in stainless steel tanks that are never exposed to light, heat, or air, which can degrade the quality of the product.

Secondly it’s cold. I mean really, really cold. Cold temperatures hold carbonation better and more bubbly, and invariably result in a better taste. McDonald’s keeps its Coke syrup refrigerated before it enters the fountain dispensers, which results in a lower temperature and higher carbonation level. The company also pre-chills the water and the CO2 before they enter the fountain head.
