- Share your progress, not your goals. This is something I learned the hard way. When you share your goals with others, you may feel motivated at first, but you also create expectations and pressure that can backfire. You may also attract negative energy from people who don’t want you to succeed. Instead, focus on taking action and celebrating your achievements along the way. This will keep you motivated and inspired.
- Some people are investments and some people are bills. This is a harsh truth, but it’s true. Not everyone in your life is worth your time and energy. Some people will drain you, distract you, and discourage you. These are the bills. You need to cut them off or minimize your contact with them. On the other hand, some people will support you, inspire you, and challenge you. These are the investments. You need to cherish them and spend more time with them.
- Every second you spend comparing your life to someone else’s is a second spent wasting yours. Comparison is the thief of joy. You don’t know what someone else is going through behind the scenes. You don’t know their struggles, their sacrifices, their failures. You only see their highlights, not their lowlights.
